Instructions for the Media

Member of the news media wishing to speak with experts at Children's Hospital, or with patient families, should contact the News and Communications Office to arrange interviews. 

To reach the staff after business hours, dial our regular office number (615-322-4747) and ask the Message Center operator to page the on-call person.

To protect the privacy and confidentiality of all Children's Hospital patients and families, medical center policy requires a staff member from News and Communications to accompany all reporters, video crews and photographers while visiting the facility.

VUStar (Fiber Optic TV1 Line (Vyvx) broadcast facility resources)

Experts from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine's Department of Pediatrics and the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt are available for live interviews or live on tape interviews directly from campus with network television, cable networks or television stations outside of Nashville. VUStar is a campus broadcast facility that links Vanderbilt experts to you 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
