Credentials
Doctors and surgeons who care for your child have received additional training in Pediatrics. Almost all of the specialists at Children's Hospital are board certified, which means that they have completed training that a specialty board requires. These physicians have practiced for a specified time and passed a difficult written and oral examination. Board certification is generally accepted as a good indication of skill and experience. The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) accredits Children's Hospital. JCAHO accreditation is a nationwide seal of approval that indicates a hospital meets high performance standards. To earn and maintain accreditation, an organization must undergo an on-site survey by a JCAHO team at least every 3 years.
