New Onset Seizure Clinic
It can be a scary event when your child has a seizure. Just like you, we want answers to why your child had a seizure. In most cases, the faster we see your child, the more accurate the diagnosis.
Our New Onset Seizure Clinic ensures your child is diagnosed quickly and accurately. Our treatment plans go beyond immediate medical needs to give you tools to keep your child safe; if or when additional seizures occur. Treatments have improved over the last few years to include new medicines, specialized diets and surgery for those with the most serious conditions.
Call (615) 936-5536 for appointments or information. A referral from your child's health care provider is required for an appointment.
Your clinic visit
Melanie Franklin, MSN, CPNP-PC, our clinic nurse practitioner, will ask you about medical history and perform a neurologic exam on your child. She will help you and your child understand seizure disorders and talk with you about treatment options. We want you to know that even after your clinic visit, Melanie is accessible by phone or at Children's Hospital for any additional questions or concerns you may have.
Your EEG appointment is about an hour and 20 minutes. A clinic visit is typically 40 to 60 minutes, but can vary depending on your child's diagnosis.
