Patients and families play an important part in managing diabetes. Our goal is to provide handouts, guides, and other information to help your child learn the self-management skills that can lead to a healthy and enjoyable life. Family Resource Center

The Junior League Family Resource Center at Children's Hospital offers a wide variety of books, videos and more to help you understand and manage diabetes.

You can also visit the Diabetes section of our online health library for more information.

Insulin pump program

We offer a comprehensive insulin pump program to patients who are interested in insulin pump therapy. 

Diabetes camps

We recommend the following camps for children with diabetes:

Camp Sugar Falls
Camp Sugar Falls is a day-camp experience for children ages 6-12 who have been diagnosed with type-1 or type-2 diabetes. Camp Sugar Falls takes place at the YMCA's Camp Widjiwagan in Antioch, Tennessee. 

Tennessee Camp For Diabetic Children
TCDC is located on Lake Chickamauga in Soddy, Tennessee, just north of Chattanooga. The camp is committed to teaching children with diabetes how to live a normal and active lifestyle.

Diabetes associations

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)
JDRF is the only major diabetes organization focused exclusively on research.

American Diabetes Association (ADA)
The ADA is the nation's leading nonprofit health organization providing diabetes research, information and advocacy. The mission of the Association is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

Children With Diabetes
An online community for families dealing with diabetes. CWD is a Web resource for parents of children with type-1 diabetes and is dedicated to helping you find the information and support you need and in caring for a child with diabetes.
